Trend Following Vault
The trend following vault focuses on longer-term directional moves in the market, using quantitative models to determine when to be net long or short an asset over extended periods. It is akin to momentum but on a multi-day or multi-week horizon, aiming to capture sustained market trends (up or down) rather than quick breakouts. For users, this vault will generally hold positions for longer durations than the momentum vault, only flipping when there is a confirmed trend change. The objective is to not miss big market moves by staying with the prevailing trend. This strategy can have higher upside during strong bull or bear trends, but may incur some drawdowns during choppy, range-bound periods. In other words, it “leans into directional models when markets trend” (and reduces exposure when markets are choppy) . Users in a trend-following vault should be comfortable with the vault sometimes being fully exposed to market direction (long or short) in order to capture large-scale movements.
